That conclusion is often wrong — because regional accreditation is just one of several legitimate frameworks operating in US higher education. The Seven Regional Bodies Regional accreditation covers US universities by geography — HLC, SACSCOC, MSCHE, NECHE, NWCCU, WSCUC, and ACCJC. This is the strongest framework for traditional academic pathways, employer recognition, and credit transfer. But it is not the only valid framework.
